I created this film for the Higgsfield Global Film Festival, but this film also became an experiment in something I care deeply about: AI realism. We already know AI can create impossible worlds, enormous action sequences and things a traditional camera could never capture. But I’m more interested in the opposite question: Can AI create something so believable that, for a few minutes, you forget it was made with AI? That meant obsessing over natural performances, skin texture, lighting, camera language, continuity, awkward pauses, small expressions and the little imperfections that make cinema feel human. WHY ME? follows Noah Carter and a question many of us have quietly asked ourselves at least once. Why me? And eventually… perhaps there is a better question.

I DON'T JUST
GENERATE IMAGES.
I DIRECT WORLDS.

I’m Kanush Khanna, an AI Filmmaker, Director and Prompt Engineer working at the intersection of cinema, visual design and generative technology — and the founder of CreateFolk, built to help creative people find the right people to build with.
My approach to AI filmmaking is built around the same things that make traditional cinema work — story, performance, cinematography, lighting, continuity, sound and emotion.
The technology is simply another production tool. What matters to me is whether the final film makes you feel something.
I'm particularly interested in pushing AI imagery away from the synthetic, over-polished look and towards something that feels photographed, physical and believable.
From narrative shorts and cinematic trailers to commercials and experimental films, I work across the complete creative process — concept, visual development, generation, direction, editing and final delivery.
Working across filmmaking, design and emerging creative tools made one problem obvious to me: talented people are everywhere, but finding the right collaborator at the right time is still unnecessarily hard. That frustration became one of the reasons I started building CreateFolk.
THE MAP
MYSTERIES
Outside filmmaking, I created The Map Mysteries, my faceless YouTube channel exploring geography and the fascinating stories hidden inside maps, places and the world around us.

Technology should never be the reason a film is interesting. The story should.
FROM AN
IDEA
TO A WORLD.
Every project starts with a story.
AI enters the process only where it helps bring that story to life.
CONCEPT
Every project starts with the story. I define the core idea, emotional direction, references, tone and visual language before generating a single frame.
WORLD BUILDING
Characters, environments, props, costumes and lighting are developed as one connected world. This is where visual continuity starts being designed rather than repaired later.
PREVIS & PROMPT DIRECTION
Before generation, I design the shot: composition, lens language, camera movement, performance, blocking, lighting and the exact visual information the model needs.
GENERATION
The right generative model is selected for the shot rather than forcing one tool to do everything. Shots are iterated for realism, performance, continuity and physical believability.
POST PRODUCTION
The generated material becomes a film through editing. Pacing, sound design, music, cleanup, compositing, effects and colour work turn individual shots into one continuous experience.
FINAL FILM
The final objective is never to demonstrate what AI can generate. It is to create something that works as cinema — something with rhythm, emotion, intention and a reason to exist.

CONCEPT
Tools change. The filmmaking principles don't.
The tools will keep changing. Story, taste and direction won't.
LEARNING
THE TOOLS.
MASTERING
THE CRAFT.
Generative filmmaking is evolving fast. Staying curious and continuously learning is part of the work.
SELECTED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONThe technology moves quickly. Curiosity has to move faster.
FIND YOUR PEOPLE.
BUILD WHAT’S NEXT.
A place for filmmakers, designers, writers, developers, AI creators, businesses and anyone building something worth sharing — discover people, collaborate and keep your creative network in one place.
Post ideas, work-in-progress, images, GIFs and original-quality video — with reactions and conversation around the work.
Discover people by what they do, what they are building and what they are looking for — then connect directly.
Join conversations, use live rooms, message privately and move from discovery to actual collaboration.
A profile that shows your work, skills, tools, links, portfolio and what you want to collaborate on.
Breaking down a cinematic realism workflow — lighting, skin texture and camera language.
Whether it’s an AI film, commercial, trailer, visual experiment or something that doesn’t quite have a name yet — I’m interested in ambitious ideas that deserve a cinematic treatment.
